My work begins with a vision to modernize traditional Korean Buddhist painting.

I seek to dismantle the perception of the genre as an 'opaque and somber medium of moral lessons,' instead expanding it into an experimental visual landscape where humor and accessibility invite everyone to engage.

While my subjects embrace modern imagery, I strictly adhere to the Jinchae (true-color) techniques of the Goryeo Dynasty. By utilizing natural mineral pigments and the bae-chae (back-coloring) method, I preserve the translucent texture of silk and its profound luminosity.

The result is a unique aesthetic where layers of tradition and modernity intricately intersect.
