뉴욕·파리·밀라노·오사카 등 각 도시의 상징적 이미지와 지역적 미감을 보살의 도상에 결합함으로써, 성스러움과 일상, 전통과 현대가 한 화면 안에서 자연스럽게 공존하도록 한다.
유머러스하고 친근한 화면 구성과 달리, 기법은 고려 불화의 방식을 충실히 따른다. 비단 바탕에 배채 기법, 천연 석채·금니를 사용해 작업하며, 붓질의 과정 자체를 불교의 수행적 태도로 이어간다.
이 시리즈는 깨달음과 자비가 과거와 사찰 안에만 머무르지 않고, 오늘의 세계와 삶 속에서도 함께한다는 메시지를 시각적으로 드러낸다.

The Bodhisattvas’ Odyssey reimagines sacred icons as modern travelers navigating New York, Paris, and Milan. It is a harmonious collision of the sacred and the secular, tradition and trend.
While the compositions are humorous, the execution is rigorous—honoring the Goryeo Dynasty’s Jinchaetechnique on silk with natural mineral pigments. This series is a visual reminder that enlightenment is not a relic of the past; it is vibrantly present, here and now.
